In April 2000, 17-year-old Jeremy Bechtel and his 18-year-old friend Erin Foster vanished without a trace after leaving a party in Sparta, Tennessee. The two teens were last seen driving away in Erin’s black 1988 Pontiac Grand Am, but despite extensive searches and investigations, no sign of them or the vehicle was found for over two decades. Their disappearance became one of White County’s most haunting cold cases. Then, in 2021, YouTuber Jeremy Sides, a scuba diver who investigates missing persons cases, located the car submerged in the Calfkiller River using sonar technology. Human remains inside were later confirmed to be those of Jeremy and Erin, bringing long-awaited answers and closure to their families after 21 years of uncertainty.
