• The banned Dead Loop performed by Olga Korbut at the nineteen seventy two Olympics remains one of the most striking moments in gymnastics history. Korbut executed the move on the uneven bars by releasing her grip, flipping backward under the lower bar, and then catching the bar again. The maneuver stunned judges and audiences because it carried an extreme level of danger and demanded a mix of courage, precision, and body control that had never been seen in the sport.

It was also the first and last time the element was performed in international competition. Soon after the Games, the move was prohibited because the risk of severe injury was considered far too high for gymnasts attempting it. Although it can no longer appear in official routines, the Dead Loop lives on as a symbol of Korbut’s daring style and the way she helped reshape gymnastics into a sport defined by both artistic expression and extraordinary physical difficulty.

  • OpenAI has reportedly banned full-episode clips of South Park after users began creating entire fake episodes using its AI video tool.

These weren’t just clips or fan edits but full videos recreating characters, voices, and animation style, sparking major concerns about intellectual property and rights misuse.

This move underlines how quickly AI is erasing the line between original creative work and replica content—and how the entertainment industry is starting to draw the line.

  • As of Nov 8th, Thailand has banned drinking alcohol during certain hours, and you can get major fines if you do

The updated Alcoholic Beverage Control Act (No. 2) B.E. 2568 means both selling and drinking alcohol are prohibited during these hours at most venues: midnight to 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m..

The ban now covers consumption, not just sale. So even if you buy a drink at 1:59 p.m., drinking it at 2:05 p.m. in a non-exempt spot can be illegal.

    Standard hours when alcohol sales/consumption are allowed in non-exempt venues: approximately 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and 5 p.m.-midnight.

Some venues are exempt: licensed hotels, entertainment venues, and international airports can still serve beyond these hours.

Penalties: Individuals caught drinking during banned hours in non-exempt venues may face fines up to 10,000 Thai baht.

  • In October, video game giant Activision said it had fixed a bug in its anti-cheat system that affected “a small number of legitimate player accounts,” who were getting banned because of the bug.

In reality, according to the hacker who found the bug and was exploiting it, they were able to ban “thousands upon thousands” of Call of Duty players, who they essentially framed as cheaters. The hacker, who goes by Vizor, spoke to TechCrunch about the exploit, and told their side of the story.

“I could have done this for years and as long as I target random players and no one famous it would have gone without notice,” said Vizor, who added that it was “funny to abuse the exploit.”
