• At 20, Lalita Patil got married after earning a physics degree. But financial independence was always the goal. Along with her husband, she started tutoring children at home while he ran a gas agency. However, when the government introduced a new gas pipeline, their livelihood took a hit.

Determined to find a way, Lalita took up work at a pharmacy but knew she wanted to build something of her own. She saw the growing demand for home-cooked tiffin services among students and working professionals in Thane. With just ₹2,000 and ₹500 for advertising, she started her tiffin service in 2016, preparing meals from her own kitchen.

But despite her efforts, she wasn’t taken seriously as an entrepreneur. She wanted to expand but lacked funds. In 2019, she came across Britannia Industries’ startup competition, which offered a ₹10 lakh prize. Lalita submitted her story, won, and after tax deductions, received ₹7 lakh—enough to take her dream to the next level.

With this capital, she launched Ghar Chi Reman, a restaurant in Thane, in July 2019. Today, her business generates ₹6-7 lakh per month, with an annual revenue of ₹1 crore. Her success led her husband to leave his gas agency and join her full-time. Together, they now employ 10 people, serving home-cooked meals through tiffin services, catering, and their restaurant.

Lalita’s journey proves that resilience, passion, and the right opportunity can turn a small idea into a thriving business!

A dairy booth serving customers every single morning.
A pharmacy where customers return month after month.

    These aren’t “hot startups.”
    They’re cash cows.

Because wealth is built in silence —
by businesses that don’t need the spotlight.
