HMD, the global licensee of Nokia Mobile since 2016, has unveiled its new Fuse phone, available exclusively through Vodafone. The device features HarmBlock+ AI technology designed to stop children from recording, sharing, or viewing sexually explicit content.
Developed by UK-based SafeToNet, the system is built directly into the phone’s operating system and camera, making it impossible to bypass. It processes camera feeds in real time, preventing explicit material from being captured before it’s even recorded.
According to company research, one in five secondary school students reported feeling pressured to send intimate images, and 63% had their photos shared without consent. Beyond camera use, the technology also filters harmful sexual content from appearing on the screen, a move that aims to address rising concerns among educators over explicit image-sharing among youth.
