  • The U.S. House of Representatives has overwhelmingly approved the Epstein Files Transparency Act in a 427–1 vote. The bill directs the Justice Department to release all unclassified documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell within 30 days. Redactions would be permitted only to protect victims or ongoing investigations, not to shield anyone from embarrassment or political consequences.

The legislation now moves to the Senate, where it will require 60 votes to advance. Senate leaders face bipartisan pressure as well as demands from survivors who rallied at the Capitol, though some lawmakers are seeking revisions, particularly regarding how victims’ identities will be protected. If the Senate passes the measure, it will head to President Trump, who has stated he intends to sign it.

  • After the 9/11 attacks, Russia presented the United States with a monument known as the Tear Drop Memorial, which now stands in Bayonne, New Jersey. Designed by Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli, it was dedicated in 2006 during a ceremony attended by both American and Russian officials.

The structure rises roughly 100 feet, featuring a dramatic split through the center that frames a large stainless-steel teardrop hanging between two bronze panels. At its base, granite plaques list the names of the victims from both the 2001 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The memorial serves as a symbol of shared sorrow and a gesture of solidarity from Russia to the United States.

  • A worker at a famous fish restaurant, who killed one of his co-workers by bashing his head with a brick, has lost his chance at a retrial after not attending his court hearings.

The High Criminal Court yesterday ruled to dismiss the objection that the 39-year-old Indian murderer had filed, thus upholding his 25-year prison sentence.

The man refused to be brought to court from prison, even after being granted a second chance to defend himself since he did not appear at his initial trial.

In June, the appellant was found guilty of premeditated murder when he killed his colleague Muhammad Yousaf Muhammad while the victim was in the middle of his afternoon prayers.

  • Colorized & restored footage of Holocaust victims under US army medical care (1945)

Before the end of World War II in Europe (May 1945), around 3.5 million European Jews had survived the Holocaust. This number represents those who were alive at the war’s conclusion, not the number of survivors after the war’s end. Many survivors faced displacement and challenges adjusting to life after the war, with many living in displaced persons (DP) camps. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum reports that between 1945 and 1952, more than 250,000 Jewish DPs resided in camps and urban centers in Germany, Austria, and Italy.
